I would try the EE, there seem to be all kinds of people swapping out the Speed Feed stocks with the Pistol Grip stocks on the Mossbergs!

Do you find that the ports help with muzzle rise at all?

They do. The thing is, you'll only notice it if you use the shotgun in tactical training wherein the rate of fire (and muzzle climb due to recoil) increases substantially. The drawback is that in low-light/no light evolutions your nightvision takes a beating.
