I have a 30 round mag, not sure what kind but it's clear plastic. It's giving me grief since I got it is there any way to make this feed better?

One of my 30 rounders would bind in the clip and the ammo would not feed. Not sure if thats the problem ur having but I ended up bending the the spring between the first and second coils (the end closest to the follower) to change the angle of the follower in the clip.
I have 2 other 30's and the follower was not sitting the same with the clip empty, now there all the same and all work minty.

Im not sure you will be able to find anybody with a working 597 30 rounder, They are all junk. My friend tried every single one the local gun shop had, looking for one that fed properly.
no dice, had to return them all.

I have 9 30 rounders that I use all summer blasting gopher. Used to be ten but busted the feed lips off of one mag. Each mag has not seen a minimum of 1000 rounds through it with nary a problem. They are a mix of Remington and Eagle magazines...

I'll admit they're not perfect, but the wrong ammo will not feed through a well functioning mag....

my 30's have been fine as long as i load the same type of ammo into the clip(ie.. winchesters or eagles or whatever) As long as i dont miss match all is good with mine. I also tok a file to my clips and rounded them just a tinny bit and that also seems help.

i have one of the remington branded 30 rounders. i have yet to have a single fail to feed or fail to eject. american eagle ammo. I have 4 bricks through the mag so far. Only issue I have had is the occasional double when the mag is fully-loaded.

It's not the ammo, I have tried many different types. still no love. I will try bending the spring. Did you bend it to riase the front or the back?

I bent it so the back part (where the primer is) of the clip had pressure so when it was empty it was as far up as it could go. Before I bent the spring It sat a millimeter or two low. Once I did this the rounds feed out of the magazine properly.

I can post a pic if you like......

I have one Remington and one Eagle. I haven't experienced any difference in functionality between the two. The last few rounds are hard to load but both magazines work fine.

My old lady has gone through about 6 of them. I am so embarssed everytime I walk into Reliable Gun with the broken ones in my hand. Two of them the spring's broke and four of them all cracked in the middle of the mag. Plastic mag's sux but it's better than reloading after ten shots!

hi i have 3 30 rounders and they sucked along with my other remington issue ones of 10 rounds i had to file down the back and front of the mags and polish them to smooth them and now the work flawlessly.
