What does your 597 like?

So far I found out that it has major problems with Remington Golden Bullet bulk packs, it tends to feed a little low, and the bullet strikes the lip of the chamber.

It likes federal bulk packs for the most part, had one failure to fire.

What else have people had luck/no luck with?

Mine feeds everything, I have had the most misfires with remington ammo. Accuracy was best with remington 22 HV HP but it groups well enough with winchester xpert bulk stuff, plus or minus minute of varmint.

Mine will cycle absolutely everything but the accuracy is bad to mediocre. So far I'm put rem HV solid points, rem yellow jackets, rem thunderbolts, rem game loads, Win dynapoints, super x, t22, federal bulk, american eagle, laupa midas m. What ammo is actually accurate for you guys and what kind of groups can you get with it? From the threads you read these things are supposed to be fairly accurate but that's not my experience thus far. Did you find there was a break in period or was it reasonably accurate right from the get go?

Mine was good for 1 1/2 inches @ 100 yards with Remington sub-sonics, considerably less with any other reasonably priced ammo I tried. It came close to 1 MOA with an unbelievably cheap brand of Russian ammo, I think they were called "Junior Target" or something like that, but the stuff was so filthy that a thorough cleaning was absolutely required every hundred or so rounds.

Have you guys ever used the Win dynapoints or the federal bulk in yours? If so, how did they shoot at 50 yrds. I just want to know if mine is the norm. The dynapoints shoot about 1.5-2" at 50, and the fed bulk shoot about 3 - 4". Mine is still fairly new (got a bit less than a brick through it) so maybe it needs more break in? Or perhaps this ammo just doesn't shoot well from these 597's ?

Dynapoints shoot very good with 597 but doesn't eject properly.

CCI Velocitor works best all around so far, good accuracy, doesn't jam and
eject very well.

I just gotta new 597 yesterday, and the only ammo i fed it was Federals 510's.
Not too shabby, no complaints here. The fed and ejected with no problems.
@ 50 yards rapid fire id get about 3inch groupings. Shooting slower made my lil holes group smaller.
Dynapoints were no good same with the super-x hollowpoints. They would jam and make things just no good.

I luvvv my new 597! Gonna need a 30 round magazine! So much  fun!:shotgun::shotgun::shotgun::shotgun::shotgun::rockOn:

I mostly shoot Dynapoints in the gun and they work fine. I find lead bullets (vs plated) too dirty and I like how cheap Dynapoints are :)

Federal 38gr plated (game shock?) didn't cycle reliably in my 597...

I feed mine the following: Federal Bulkpack, Dynapoints, Remington Subsonics, CCI Mini-Mags, Winchester T22 target loads, Yellowjackets and Stingers. Stingers shoot like crap, 4" groups at 25 meters. Most others shoot very well!

I only had a few issues in the very beginning (mostly not fully cocking), but this was not the fault of the ammo.
Mine now sports a Volquarsten hammer.
It eats absolutely everything I feed it, and groups are about the size of a quarter at 20m (I'm no marksman :()
It has been a while since I tried Dyanpoints... bought two boxes today :D
All Federal and Remington bulk ammo has worked fine.
It has also tried American Eagle and CCI Blazers, Stingers and Velocitors.
Like I said... eats everything ;)
