I have poked around on the interweb looking for 20 or 30 rd mags for 597, but can only find the ridiculous looking "banana style" mags. Is there a 15-30rd versions that are more of a straight profile avail.? and where???
It seems to gain on extra few rounds they get pretty retarded looking,

never seen one yet. had a 597 for a quite a while. i do agree with you on the looks of the available. look stupid...i use the 10rd factory for that reason.
 
Rimfire rounds, have.... wait for it.... a rim!

Their very design does not lend them to straight mags. They either taper back, with the lower round's rim behind that of the one on top. Or they curve forward with the lower rim in front.

So I wouldn't hold your breath for one, unless they start making rimless rimfire rounds.
 
I went snooping in a Cabelas in LA last year and they only had the clear bannana style ones .....massive store too so if they dont have em , we may all be SOL.
 
Shooter's Ridge is the 1 that you are looking for I think.
Single stack holds 25 rounds.
