So I got a 597 VTR and I need to replace the bolt charging handle as it is loose and works its way out. Where can I get one, I prefer to upgrade with something nicer. ALso any suggestions what else to upgrade like maybe the extractor or??? I want to put an adjustable rear stock adn new grip as well so buying it all from teh same place would be nice. Help me out guys, yes I prefer supporting dealers but let me know what my options are please!!!!!!

I had a 597 once. I ordered parts and accessories from rimfiresports and I was happy with them and what I got. I've also seen other members post a link for them on CGN. Unfortunately, there isnt a lot of accessories out there for the 597 which doesnt make much sense since a lot of people have them. Promag does an upgrade kit as well which may be of interest to you. An upgraded high cap mag made out of metal would be sweet for 597 shooters.

Thanks bud i am on there now looking around. I am in Dallas texas right now and may be stuck for a few days until the airlines get caught up. Looks like i will be on CGN alot the next couple days!!! lol

No worries - more time to drool over all the firearms we can get here! You should do a tour around and see if you can find some high cap mags for your 597....

X10 for rimfiresports. They are good. My charging handle was loose for a bit, but then I bent the spring a little more, and no more loose. The VQ hammer and extractor are probably the best upgrades you can get for a 597. I installed both on mine recently, and they made a world of difference. Pretty easy install, too.

I read on Rim fire central that you could make it stick better by gently prying up the tab that retains the handle from underneath. But the key is lightly...check out RIM FIRE CENTRAL, lots of good tips for the 597.

Ok I will look over there. I would actually like to get a targer more tactical looking one since i am doing some upgrades. I jusr finished up my mag shell so I have a full sized mag over the bananna mag. Looks nicer and I have not even coated it yet. ALso I assume that the rear fixed stock just swaps out with en aftermarket buffer tube and stock right??
