Disassembling my 597 vtr for the first time, I yanked on the trigger assembly and a little spring a piece of metal and a smal pin thing flew out and I have no idea how it goes back in, cant seem to find anything on youtube. HEeeeelllpp

Its the spring and lever that hold the bolt open when the mag is empty. I took mine apart, the spring went flying,I stepped on it and mangled it . I ordered a new one 2 months ago....still not here:mad::mad:
The good thing is the gun still works without the spring.
The manual from Remington online gives an ok pic of where it goes.There is a hole at the top of the trigger assembly,just above your pic , right above magazine hole.
Put spring on so it keeps lever in a downward position.
I hope this made some sense:p.....If spring is mangled just put pin and lever ....and order a spring. Also if this gun is new to you , I strongly recommend a Volquartsen
extractor and hammer. Good luck

im wondering how I can figure out the hammer/extractor replacement. There seems to be sweet ####all about this rifle on youtube

Hammer is easy;
Push pin right to left. Pop out the spring and the 2 black pin balencer's. Put in new hamer and set everything the way you took it out but in reverise order.
Bolt is a little tricky;
Need a real small flat head. On the bottom side of the bolt you will see a whole. Push back on the detent & with the other finger remove the extractor. Now while holding down on the detent put back in the new extractor but you will have to wiggle it back into place.
PLEASE MAKE SURE TO DO THIS IN A ZIP LOCK BAG AS THE EXTRACTOR DETENT IS UNDER EXTREME PREASURE AND ARE A SPECIAL ORDER FROM THE FACTORY TO REPLACE.
;)
