Hi, a newbie to your site. Have read the forums. Just purchased a 5MM remington and didn't realize the ammo is hard to find. Any leads to purchase in Canada?

You can apply for "Equipment Exchange" (EE) and. run a WTB ad... Also, head to shows when you can.

Remmington with the rear locking lugs?

Good rifle, good candidate for a conversion to an available caliber.

The plans can be bought from Calhoon's site. But it'll still be cheaper to buy them and convert the rifle, than to feed it ammo you gotta pay a buck or more a shot for.

The rear locking lug actions are really strong. Lots of Hornet base conversions on them. Or you can make it a 22 mag. Or 17 HMR.

Good luck. you got better odds of winning the lotto, than of getting a cheap and available source of ammo for the 5mm.
