6-18x40 AO Too Much For .22LR

I have 6-18x40AO on my savage heavy barrel, it's pretty good, the 18x is nice at 50y for target work(I'm not good enough to crack the challenge though I have come close) super fun plinking at the range, I may upgrade to a 6-24 next, but I had the scope already. The AO is nice for switching between 50y and 100y

The Leupold VX-2 6-18x40 should be perfect for your CZ 452 or 455 Varmint. The more magnification the better it is for shooting the small groups you need for the 50 yard challenge. That is exactly the scope I would be getting if I had the money to spare.

that's about the perfect scope for rimfire silhouette shooting, for dedicated target its too little. In fact for anything but target its nearly the perfect scope.

I would agree with many comments that believe it is what you like that matters ,, i run a 6-24 x 50 , i like the up close and personal

You will certainly be able to tell us all about the pink mist when you connect with them furry lil buggers ;)
So, what route you going?
Rob

Thanks for the insightful responses!! Nice to have things confirmed by the crew on the board..... I will be going with the VII 6-18x40 AO for sure. Trip to the states, the 550 this week, the 455 Thumbhole Grey next week, will make me have to wait till mid August to order. Damn you Clay.... ;)

Cheers,
D.K.

I use Sightrons 8X32X56 on my .22lr precision bench guns. Some guys even use 10X50X60.
