Hey all.. so Is there anyone out there currently shooting 6-222(6x43).. Im currently only able to find load data on the Hodgdon website and lits only 2 or 3 powders..
1st.. the rifle is a Rem788 with a 1-8 Twist 24" Stainless barrel...

Current load is 23.2gr H322, WW Super Brass, CCI400 primer and a 65gr Hornady V-max getting 3050FPS.

Im going to be going up to 70gr Sierra Blitz kings and the powders i have on hand I believe would work to keep me in the 28-2900FPS range are H4895, H322, Benchmark and Possibly RL7(allthough might be on the fast side)

Does anyone out there have an idea on what works well with this round... How i came up with the H322 load since it wasnt listed was i found 6x45 data and took 15% away from the Beginning load and worked my way up....

Any help would be much apprechated!!

Thanks
Josh

look at data for the 6x45 and or the 6x47, one is based on the .223 and the other 222 rem mag.
your starting load for the 6x43 should be close enough to that of the 6x45, the berger reloading manual gas pages of data for the 6x45

ht tp://stevespages.com/243_8_75.html

remove the space between the t's, steves pages has data for 4 bullet weights for the 6mm-222rem

I think I talked to you about this on FB. Can you get some imr8208xbr? I would try that. With 70gr smk I ran out of case capacity before high pressure in my 6x45

Thanx for sharing that........just trying to be of assistance....feel free to post something helpful yourself....I do shiftwork and didn't thoroughly read the request......surely he can access the powders mentioned or RE#7 and Win 748 would also be workable.....either 4198 would be my choice as it a standard in the parent cased triple deuce so why not in a wildcat........Harold

Thanks mbogo3. Yes i have tried 2 of the powders listed on the Hodgdon website as well as some off... BL-C2 did not produce the velocity shown..nore the groups expected... acceptable but not expected.

BL-C2 with pressure signs got me to 2700fps with 65gr Vmax and 3/4" groups
RL7 got me 2850 when i ran into pressure signs.. with again acceptable groups.
Never did try 4895(my own ignorace due to the BL-C2 being a bust)
H322(Not listed by Hodgdon) got me to 3050 but taking 6x45 load data and dividing by 15% and working my way up.

Tried H322 with 70gr Sierra Blitzkings today with 21.5gr start and had flattened primers.. No sticky bolt lift but flattened primers.. but brass is on its last firing and will be discarded and will be going to another 20 from the same lot.. Cant give a velocity as the batteries died at the range lol.. (piss off)

This is why im hoping someone will chyme in.. i will look out the predatormasters form.. thanks.. I do have H4895 so i may try it.. Also ahve Benchmark, Varget, 4320, 4007ssc, RL10x(204) and hard to find, and some others i cannot remember off hand... Thanks all for the info.

If you read the whole thread you will see I did add something new to it. But I guess you are to busy to read before posting.
