6.5 06 Loads

H4831SC, 140gr SST, CCI BR2 primers, Lake City prepped, fireformed/neck sized brass, OAL to fit the mag.

Start at 53gr and work up from there. Mine was around 56/57gr depending on powder lot.

Since throats and chambers can vary, always start way lower then needed just to make sure. I always find that H4831SC works best on the high end of load development. Just be careful and approach in 1/2gr increments.

If you can shoot over a chrony, expect to reach 2950/3000fps as an operational max in 22/24" barrels. Odds are pressure signs will start to show around that velocity and accuracy will go for a dump after that point.

I use a Speers Bearclaw 140 grain with 48.1 grains of IMR 7828. Three shots in a Quarter at one hundred yards.

ever chrony this load? sounds mild. I can stick that much 7828 in a 260 Rem and barely make 2600 fps.

You'll want to approach this with caution from 4-5 grains below, but my pet load for a long time with the 140 Partition was 60 grains of H1000. Shot under ½moa and was reasonably fast.
Ishootguns: are you sure you meant 48.1 grains of 7828? I am thinking like tod, that this is a mighty light load. 58.1 would sound more like it. Regards, Eagleye
