6.5/284 Rebarrel (lots of pics)

The barrel "seems" bent because the photo was taken with a wide angle lens on the camera and it distorts the foreground.

It is called "barrel" distortion (literally) and afflicts all variable power lenses, including rifle scopes. The cheaper you go, the worse it is... fact of life.
 
I would assume you also put an indicator down the bore while truing it in the lathe, and not just by the OD of the barrel? If not, how did you measure to make sure the bore was actually concentric with the OD of the barrel?

Your assumption is correct. This is the most important part of process. Doesn't matter how well you do the rest, with out the threads true to the bore you might as well use the barrel as a fence post.

I got exactly 1000 rounds before pulling it. The barrel still shot good but fouled up way to fast. Needed to be cleaned every 30-40 rounds to maintain accuracy.
