This is probably a simple quiestion for alot of you but I want to make sure I'm right...I'm reloading a 6.5x55 swede, can I use bullets marketed for the 260 Remmy? Bore diameters look the same in my reloading books. Thanks In otherwords, does 6.5mm = .264" I think it does

In a word....YES!
I have just sold my 6.5X55 Tikka, but am using the same bullets in my new
.260Rem Tikka.....don't ask...I'm not sure the switch makes any sense either!
6.5 is indeed the metric equivalent of .260 (.264).
The only issue is matching the twist rate of the barrel to the weight of the bullet...so far the .260Rem unit is working well with the 'standby' 6.5X55 weights of 139 - 142.

they use the same bullets, and the two cartridges perform very very similar. In most cases the 6.5x55 is found in a 1:8 twist barrel which is good for all weight of bullets up to 160 grain, and the 260 is commonly found with 1:9 twists which will only do up to 140 grain.
