Chago, this is my last post on your thread. I do not care for your disrespectful, confrontational, belligerent attitude. Here are a couple points that I have gleaned from your posts; you are a very inexperienced shooter, as you do not understand the fundamentals of shooting or recoil... I suspect that you are very young, from your inability to have a civil respectful conversation and from your readily apparent (and unfounded) arrogance.
Below are my final thoughts, young man;
You were asking for thoughts a 6.5mm "moose" rifle... the posts responded to that.
You were already called out on your inappropriate posts earlier in the thread and deleted your comments...
You have clearly done very little shooting to not understand that perceived recoil is much more intense shooting at a bench and even MORESO when shooting prone, due to body posture and the rigidity of these postures...
You are of course again rude... and wrong. I can shoot a .300 WM just as accurately as a .223, because the recoil does nothing until "AFTER" the bullet is gone... I understand that this is difficult to grasp for a young fella... last fall when you graduated from your 10/22 your uncle bought you for your 15th birthday and you fired your first .243, it must have really startled you... and you have developed a real fear of anything larger... your imaginary .338 Lapua must really be frightening when you stop to imagine what it would be like.
"These people" won't go away because you invited them here asking for opinions... and then you antagonized them with rude and disrespectful behaviour and a clear lack of understanding of basic shooting facts.
You need a good spanking...
The mods are likely to respond in a fashion that you are clearly not expecting...
Incorrect... Hornady designed the CM to respond to the requests for a 6.5mm with a similar capacity to the .260, BUT a shorter case length to allow for seating bullets out further while still functioning in SA magazines and actions.
Chago... you need to grow up... but time will take care of that. Good Shooting.

ok this should start a hell of a war. Try to keep it clean folks. I am honestly debating building a hunting rifle in a McMillan stock in a 6.5 caliber bullet. 260, 6.5x55, 6.5 cree, 6.5x284. What is everyone thoughts on this? ... But how does it perform on a 1000lb moose? ...I'm asking at lets say up to 300 yards, in the boiler room is a 260 or others like it going to knock him dead? or are a trailing job?

I don't mean to call anyone a liar. I Just know anyone absolutely anyone will shoot s lesser recoil rifle better then a heavy recoil rifle. No matter who you are. Therefore you feel the recoil. I'll delete the previous post before it starts a arguement because I don't want that.

Sorry I don't buy it. I own and regularly shoot a Savage 110 338 Lapua Magnum. Again prone or bench when your all nice and cozy with bags, rests, bipods etc is one thing. I don't care if your a US marine sniper. When you stand up and shoot standing while in the bush and turn to point at your target. Recoil matters...

I would love to see group sizes of you and all your "non scared of recoil" friends. Shooting standing free hand 5 x 5 shot groups at 100 yards. Once with a 223 and once with a 300 win mag. With all do respect if you tell me there going to be equal your full of...

My god, these people just won't go away. What fascination do you have with extreme overkill? we can argue this like religion and politics. Please people can we talk about 6.5 calibers and stop flexing muscles on how much recoil you can handle?

Your really good at pulling items out of context... Just leave your not adding anything valuable to the thread. ... Because if you did and you needed to ask that you should be wearing a helmet in a padded room.
You need a good spanking...
Mods I changed the title to try to weed out the magnum army. Can you please delete all the junk so we can actually discuss the question I had.

From what I understand the creed more is hornadys version of the 260. It's gaining popularity because it achieves same velocity as 260 but at a much lower pressure I believe. So I guess you have a little ore cad capacity and some more room to make the load a hot one. I think that's the major difference. Not huge though.
