6.5 cm reloading woes

Nosler 140gr RDF are pretty decent in all my 6.5 rifles. Hell even the cheap 140gr Hornady bthp shoot great.
Now, I do always get better results with extruded then I do with ball, so that Superformance might be one reason for lack of consistency.
Right now I'm working up loads with IMR4831 and H4831sc with 140's. Speer has data for the IMR, Sierra has it for the H4831sc.

Every powder has different burning characteristics. Vibrations are created in the barrel during the burning of the powder. Most powders have a couple of loadings (nodes) where the vibrations are at such a level that the rifle shoots better groups. You try to find these spots by "working up a load" for a particular powder and bullet combination. Some powders just produce better groups, (which are called nodes) than others. Every rifle is different but some loads do good in a lot of rifles.

Ok so looking at that page, he has a node with the H4895 at 24.0-24.2, so whats wrong with 24.1? Also sometimes if you don't see an obvious node you can do a seating depth test near a possible node, then retest the OCW around your optimal seating depth. (OSD)

I have an X bolt long range and it shoots the ELD-X 143 superbly. I load them .020 off the lands and the x-bolt magazine will allow you to do that giving you an extra long round. H4350 is the key for me. I don’t have access to my load data right now so I can’t give you more than that. You can pm in a few weeks and I will forward my actual load.

Do not even bother with load testing until at least 100 to two hundred rounds have gone through a factory barrel as well as cleaning frequently in that time frame.

Silly question but have you checked to make sure your seating die is not pushing on the tip of the bullets to seat them? I've seen it a few times especially with long slender polymer tipped bullets where the die pushed on the polymer tip to seat the bullet and gave a generous OAL variation resulting in pretty wild looking groups in one rifle and random fliers in another... Just pull the seating stem and drop a bullet into it and make sure it's pushing by the ogive... Only takes a minute or two to check.
