Read on another forum barrel life before accuracy fall off is 3000 or even less. I mostly shoot 308 and 348Win, so never worried much about barrel life. My 300WinMag hunting rifle has about 500rds down the pipe and still shoots accurately. Do .243 and 6.5Creedmoor rds rounds burn up barrels that quickly?

Reason I ask, I've missed out on 2 Ruger Precision Rifles in 6.5Creedmoor rifles by an hour or so each time and wonder if the gods are trying to tell me something???

My 243AI is pretty much burned up at 1250. (From .3 up to 1 moa)
The creed should run 2500 plus from what I've gathered.
Barrels are disposable. I don't like it either. Shoot it up and replace it.

2500-3000 rounds is a lot of shooting, certainly not in the same category as your 308 though. Keep the barrel cool and don't run long fast strings and you should be good.

Anyone know how easy or hard barrel replacement is on the Ruger Precision Rifle?
