I finally folded and bought a used 6.5 creedmoor with a 22" barrel... I bought it mainly for the reduced felt recoil over anything. Now I have a few questions:
If I see a deer at 300 meters, should I walk backwards 400 or is it 500 meters before taking a shot, and if I forget my shells, is it true I can just yell "6.5 CREEDMOOR" and the deer will drop dead in its tracks?
Seriously though, if the rifle is to be used for 50 to 300 meter shots on mule deer, (yeah maybe stretching it to 400 meters if there was no other option, but no farther than that), what factory ammo are you guys using?
I am thinking of the hornady eldx 143 grain stuff if my rifle likes it, but have read a few reports from the internet saying it doesn't expand properly occasionally.
I am not a reloader, so it is factory ammo for me.
Just hoping for comments from real life experienced users, and not paid writers from gun magazines. Thanks, Elkrusto
