Most of my cartridge converstions have been pretty simple necking up, & moving shoulders around, like .338-06 from .30-06, & 9.3x57mm from .30-06. The only significant neck diameter reductions I've done so far have been 8x58mmR Krag from .45-70, which was my most extensive çonversion so far.

As per the title question: anyone tried it yet, & how were the results on the brass, and ultimately on the target?
So far I've picked up some Hornady 6.5CM brass to try, & necked up some .250 Savage, but I'm considering necking down Vs. up, & appreciate input.

I haven't done it since I don't have a 6.5 Creedmore but why not start with 260 brass since it is in the same family and Lapua makes brass for it?
Is it due to the small primer size?
From what I have read there is no problem going from 308 to 6.5 Creedmore although I have heard some people talk about neck turning due to thick necks.

I'm making my own Creedmoor 6.5 from both Lapua and Norma 308 brass.Been having good luck with both.Heard some where the small rifle primer could be a bit better.I bought a hundred Palma Lapua and got started and stopped after the first piece. They are annealed and the whole shoulder collapsed before it sized the first 1/8' of neck. I've done a couple of hundred of my older twice fired Lapua brass and never had a problem.

I haven't tried the SR primer cases yet, but was curious about giving it a shot in .308. Might as well see what it does for 6.5CM?

Okay, okay; I'm impatiently waiting for the rifle to arrive, and biding my time by getting ammo ready...

.260 brass requires just fire forming no?

I watched a YouTube video on how to size from .308 but it requires a doner die that you sand down slightly to bump the shoulders back?

The creed is based on a 250 savage now a 308 family. You can neck up 22-250 brass as well.
To use a thing in a 308 family the shoulder has to be moved back

Ideally you would first trim then bump the shoulder back.

If you look at the 2 drawings you will see that the shoulder is much more forward on the 260.
It must be pushed back before it will chamber.
