Does anyone have any idea/theory as to why the components (BRASS) for this caliber have suddenly become so hard to find? I've tried every MAJOR supplier/distribution and have not found anything but a little bit of Hornady brass? Wonder if the caliber is becoming 'extinct' already.. or very popular?!

If you`re really in a pinch, can`t you convert 308? It uses 308 as a parent cartridge and is shorter so can be trimmed.

The shoulder on the 6.5 cartridge makes it more difficult to do whereas its pretty straight forward to convert 308 to 260 with a sizer die. This is the dilemma that I am in. Considering converting a bolt and a gas gun to either 6.5 CM or 260 Rem.

Thanks for all the information. I was a little concerned that Norma and Nosler (for whatever 'reason') slowed production on their brass. The Hornady brass doesn't seem to hold up very well with reloads.. Regardless, thanks to all who took time to respond!! Appreciated!

Most US ammo manf have decided component brass is not making them as much money as selling the factory ammo.

The amount of brass has tightened tremendously. Also, a bunch of chamberings have been discontinued.

But there is new supply for various chambering... usually at much higher prices.

As long as a shooter plans ahead, supply is not bad... Just don't expect to see on the shelf some weird or popular chambering.
