Is one better than the other? Seems Lapua has better ballistics but Creedmor is more popular. Why is that?
Barrel life better in the Creedmor maybe?

A google search will over saturate you with info.

CM is supported by Hornady with premium ammo at reasonable price. No Lapua brass. Pro for Factory ammo, Con for handloaders.
6.5x47 and 260Rem has Lapua brass so Pro for handloaders. Con for hard to find factory ammo.

Barrel life better in the Creedmor maybe?

Creedmore will push the same bullet faster than the x47, giving it the edge ballistically. The lower case capacity combined with the x47 case design (steep shoulders, long neck) means the lapua should have a longer barrel life.
The x47 obviously only comes in Lapua brass, top of the line. Hornady, Winchester, Nosler and Norma all make Creedmoor brass, although availability up here can be spotty. You can form it from 308 brass, if you must have Lapua brass.
The x47 is one of those cartridges that have a reputation for being an inherently accurate, easy to tune caliber. Very true, in my experience.

I've read that because of the better , stronger brass that the 6.5 Lapua uses. This gives a slight edge to the 6.5 Lapua as you can load them a bit hotter, thereby having more velocity.
I just read an article by demigod, who compared the 6.5 CM,6.5 Lapua and .260 rem.
He ended up choosing the .260 , but did say that all three are virtually the same.

Splitting hairs between the. 260, 6.5 creedmoor and 6.5 lapua when it comes to trajectory and performance. The decision comes down to availability of components and if you are handloading like stated above.

Yes it seems to be splitting hairs. I'll be hand loading also , so it shouldn't matter.
Would barrel life be the same for all 3?I thought I read that .260 has the edge in barrel life.

Between those 2 I'd pick the 6.5x47 Lapua.
139gr Scenars are excellent bullets, very easy to load for and super accurate(a good rifle always helps).

"Barrel life" depends on so many things, between those 3 there's no point even worrying about that aspect.

The 139scenar shots within a MOA POI of 140 VLD hunting in my CTR 260Rem. Both capable of 1/2MOA at 100m.

Target shoot with scenar, hunt with VLD hunting, ballistic of 30 cal 200gr bullets at like half the recoil, don't need muzzle brake, what's not to like.

I see all 3 are fairly equal. But I was thinking of using a 20 inch barrel , knowing that I will lose about 120 to 150 fps. Not to worried about that. But also thought I could load the lapua up , to gain those fps back

I've never had an issue getting 6.5x47 brass. .260 brass has been hard to find, and from what I've read 6.5CM is very hard to find.

The 6.5x47 uses the smaller PPC flash hole, so you'd have to get a different tool if you cared enough to ream and clean them.

I'm not sure if the 6.5x47 would feed in a semi, but as most of you know the .260 and CM feed in the modern hunter.

I was at bass pro yesterday and I was really surprised the shelf had about 13x 50 packs of 6.5cm brass, also bullseye (site sponsor) has a ton in stock

Ya, that don't help. I just spent a few hrs reading about the three options I've chosen and there is so much info.
But I didn't see any info on magazine restrictions, until you mentioned it.
So based on that, the .260 is out.
So now it's CM or Lapua.
Lapua seems to have the upper edge ,It appears the Lapua brass is much better and capable of Hotter loads.

You can use Lapua 22-250 brass and fireform it for the creedmoore.
