Other then ATRS in Calgary. Does anybody know who else would be able to get there hands on one of these? I'm planning a build around a 20" fluted 6.5 Grendel barrel and am looking at prices.

I'm curious too, and I'd like to know if 7.62x39 bolt is good enough for grendel.
Quick look at Lee book specs and wiki, tells me that they are derivatives of each other.

Would a gunsmith machine a blank to take a barrel extension and headspace it? Or is that asking too much?

Any gunsmith who is familiar with making AR barrels and has a chamber reamer for the Grendel should be able to order you a 6.5 blank and install a barrel extension. Other than ATRS you could try Jerry at Mystic and maybe Dlask. Other than that you may be able to order a factory barrel from One Shot Tactical or Questar.
It isn't a very common chambering here in Canada so be prepared to handload for it or pay through the nose for factory ammo.

Good luck

No they are not the same bolt ( other than head diameter )

A true 6.5 Grendel bolt recess is about .136 vs .125 for 7.62x39

Variations of Grendel such as 264LB and the early 6.5CSS ( Grendel knockoff ) used the .125 bolt

Just buy a proper Grendel bolt ( like the JP Enhanced )
