6.5 Japanese neck sizing die?

Does anyone know if someone makes one? My 6.5 Jap M38 chamber really blows the brass out so it is hard on the casings to full length size all the time. I tried backing my full length sizing die out to only size the neck but it still sizes the base of the casing. Need to find an old Lee Loader or a neck sizing die. Any ideas where I could get one?

Thanks

1. try backing the 6.5 Jap sizing die so it only sizes 1/2 to 3/4 of the neck.

2. I use the Lee 6.5/300 WSM sizing die as my universal 6.5mm neck sizer, but a 260 Rem sizing die would likely size the neck without touching the body.

3. You could also order a Lee Collet sizer from their custom shop.

Andy,

I got a 6.5 Swed sizer. Would that work?

I doubt it - it's too long, but try it. It might hit enough of the neck to work.

The "Universal" die needs to be:

- 6.5 mm;
- larger in the body; and
- the same length or shorter to the base of the neck.

Hornady neck dies are not cartridge specific, a 6.5 neck die from them will work on any 6.5 neck as the body is larger than most cases.

I measured two dies of mine and the bases would have to be larger than .520 to do any sizing.

"...got a 6.5 Swede sizer..." No. Neck diameters are different.
Didn't look but I suspect any 6.5 Jap die will be a $pecial order thing. Rummage around Lee's site to see if they ever made a 6.5 Jap Classic set.
