Since the introduction of Hornady's 6.5 PRC I figured it was a very sensible cartridge, quite similar to the wildcats 6.5 WSM or SAUM but a tiny bit smaller case capacity.....but at least you can get Headstamped brass or loaded factory Hornady ammo 143gr ELD-X and the 147gr ELD-M,
I know there's been lots of debate as to why and what the hell for we have lots of 6.5 options ? We don't need another blablabla
I always thought Winchester and Remington missed the bus
on not offering/chambering rifles in their respective Short Mags in the 6.5 caliber
So after some research and reading up on the cartridge I'm liking it more all the time, its a very sensible option in the 6.5 cartridge world, I do have a
Kimber Montana 6.5CM, a Husqvarna 6.5x55 and a custom 6.5-284 so I definitely need a 6.5 PRC as there's an empty spot in the 6.5 Safe.
I picked up a Kimber Montana 325wsm from another fine CGN member.....thanks, ordered a Benchmark #1 Contour,5R, SS 1-8 twist barrel, optional 26" finish length, dies and a reamer from Gary Eakin thereamerguy........I plan on topping it off with Talleys and either a Leupold VX5 HD 3-15x44 or the VX6 HD 3-18x44
