Got a decent deal on a donor action WSM so it looks like a 6.5 PRC is in process.

I'll need dies, brass, bullets, McMillan, Timney, IBI barrel, rings and a scope.

It will be a nice compliment to my 300 WSM that Leeper built me back in the day.

I have a number of rifles so I'm in no hurry, I will have to make final decisions on which specific parts I want, order them and then put them in a pile for final assembly. it's not going to be ready for fall 2020, that's for sure. :)

I'm looking to do one in a tikka t3x 300wsm action, and either an ibi barrel or a carbonsix....but I've never heard of carbon six before. It's looking to be a $1800 with just the donor action and the barrel, and then I see the savage ultralight 110 for $1800. Sooo yeah....tough call so far. I know that If I wait I can get a tikka in 6.5 prc soon enough and the build might not be worth it...
 
Mine should be getting close to 'next up' at the GS. Same action as you, but I waited for a Hells Canyon Armoury barrel and I already had the Macmillan stock... And while I was waiting for the barrel to show up, I got the dies, bullets and brass, Vortex scope, and one box of factory ammo for the break-in...

Sent it off to Gary at least 2 months ago...getting excited...

I might even treat myself to a Near Mfg one piece scope mount...
 
Those short action magnum bolt face classic stainless rifles are perfect starters. Or good the way they are. I have a 270 wsm like it.

I have a Carbon Six barrel and like it. They are a McGowen barrel blank that C6 turns down and wraps. Finish quality is great and it shoots nicely.
