6.5 PRC Powder

Who has a favorite powder this cartridge? Just picked one up and an itching to start building a load for it. Probably going with 120-130 gr bullets providing the rifle likes them.

120-130 I have no experience
But 140 and up, one of n565, R26, or H1000 will make most rifles shoot.
n565 gives me the best sd, R26 highest velocity.

From what I have read, lighter bullets do ok with 4831 or R22 burn speed

120-130 you can get away with the 4350's.

A friend of mine has had crazy good success with R23 and 127gr LRX,

I use mostly R26 for 140-156gr bullets, have used H1000 with really good results as well

I can’t say I’ve done a lot of testing with other powders, but H1000 shoots excellent in my Bergara.

Seems like RL26, H1000 and Retumbo are most recommended, thanks...now to find some instock somewhere..

My PRC Savage UL really likes R26 and any 140+grain bullet.

I was able to easily get to Hornady data max loads with absolutely no pressure signs whatsoever. My 6.5 Swede Zastava also loves R26 with 140gr Sierra game kings.
