6.5 PRC powders of choice

Curious if you're using large rifles or magnum large rifles primers?
Can you share your recipes?

I use Federal 210 primers, it works in the cold just fine as well.

The local Cabelas has both H1000 and Magnum in stock. I think I'll go pick up a pound of each today.

Tried N568, Staball HD, H1000. Was using H1000 until I tried retumbo, and ended up selling all the H1000 I had left and going the retumbo route.

Best speed and accuracy in my proof 22" barrel using the 156 gr bergers. Was always using the cci250 primers.

I use R26 with Fed 210 primers and load to Hornady data with their 143 Eld-x. I get book velocities of 3175 fps (average) shooting 3/4 MOA.
I lucked out with 5 pounds of R26 from budgetshootersupply a few years back. I don’t use it for high volume shooting and have found my load.
R26 is what Hornady developed the cartridge with (according to Backfire on YouTube).

I’ve used nothing but R26 with 143 ELDX in my Tikka CTR but am going to try H1000 with Sierra 130 game changers.

My nephew is having good luck with N560 and 129LRX.

Stainless Tikka T3X with an IBI barrel finished at 22". Getting the bolt fluted while I'm at it. In sitting in the queue at Corlane. Not sure what I'll do for the stock yet.

Having a .260 Rem, a Creedmoor and a 6.5x55 I have quite a collection of 6.5 bullets. For hunting I have several boxes of 127LRX and a few boxes of 143 ELD-X so I'll probably start with those.

I picked up a pound of H1000 and a pound Ramshot Magnum today. When I put them away I found two pounds of RL26 that I forgot I had!

Nice Choice ! I have a full twist fluted Mtn lite contour on my new 6 CM . I’m using a a Wildcat stock . RJ

I am shooting 140 Speers - 565 is a nice powder - i had low es/sd. H1000 is also good, both these powders are somewhat avail.
I too have a few lbs of R26 and am only using that in my 'hunting only' PRC. for me, R26 was clear winner, with both accuracy and velocity.

Steve, yuppers.. for sure, you got a great start on it...LOL What did the hunter dies set you back ?

As an adult, finding powder you had stashed away is just like when you were a kid at Christmas time !!

Last year I found 4 lbs of WST I had put in a plastic ammo box...BONUS !!!....I loaded a whack of 7/8 oz loads for skeet !
