See a variety of load data that use either LR or LRM primers. What are people experience with their 6.5 PRC? Do you get better results generally with one or the other? Have 156 Berger EOL and 150 Accubonds coming to try. Will be using Nosler Brass. Have either CCI LR, Fedral LR and Fedral LRM primers. Powder I’ll be trying H1000 for now as I have a few pounds. Will pick up Reloader 25/26 if I ever see it.

Rifle is an Antler Arms Carbon Mountain with a 24” 1:8 twist on order.

I was currently using CCI magnum primers and just switched to Fed LRP.
Accuracy was good with the magnum primers, a bit better with the non magnum primers.
I’ve used H1000, RL 25,26 and 8133.

143 eld x

All can shoot sub MOA, but H1000 has been the best so far.

The Federal Match primers are made to the same specifications as the regular primer, but supposedly they are made by the more experienced staff, and go through a more strict QC procedure.

I heard Vanderbrink makes the match primers , himself.

I have tested Fed 210, Fed 210M, Fed 215 CCI BR2, CCI 200 and CCI 250. I have found that the non magnum primers seem to provide better velocities. I have run VN 565 and VN 568 as well I will be testing IMR 8133 and Possibly some Superformance.

With 127 LRX and will be testing the 150 ABLR shortly just need some time to load them up once night school comes to an end.

All my new tests will be with nosler brass or gunwerks brass.

I am in the process of working a load with the 156 EOL. Using CCI magnum, N568, nosler brass. Have RL23 to try if I can't pin anything with the N568 down. First ladder test seemed promising.

Road trip this weekend, so hopefully for next weekend I can pin some groups down, to work on seating depth to fine tune.

Working a load at the same time with N568 and the 124gr Hammer Hunter bullet, so been busy with the 6.5 PRC. On final seating depth test to tighten the .5 moa group down some more. May carry both in separate magazines and a scope offset to run in the field .

Working new loads for a 3o3 brit and a 7mm-08 at the same time, so range trips are maximized. Hopefully acquiring a 7mm-08, so that will get into the fold as well, to keep things really busy.

I hope you have good luck. I did a ladder test with the 147 ELDMs and the 156 EOLs using N568, lapua brass, and Federal 210M primers. This is what I ended up with:

I'm happy with the 147s, I'm going to load some tighter spreads now and shoot some groups as well. I do have 2 lbs of RL26 which I might use for the 156s. I didn't have and pressure signs with the 147s but a couple of the last few 156 had faint ejector marks and the 60gr one was a little harder to lift the bolt (not much though). Going to try with some 215M primers as well to see if that changes much.

Gun was a Bergara HMR with a 24" barrel.

I use standard Federal 210 primers with a max load of R26 and 142gr ABLR. Never have they failed to go bang in the Saskatchewan winter. Excellent accuracy in my Savage UL.
