6.5 PRC? Well, im sold.

Recently aquired a 6.5 PRC ruget hawkeye long range target and i have to say, im totally sold. I love this caliber. Took it out today and zeroed the rifle with hornady factory 147 grain ELD's and punch a half moa group. The rifle kicks like a 223 and is just a dream to shoot. I picked up some dies for reloading so i can see what this rifle can really do.

Yeah im pretty impressed. I have around 900 yards i can shoot out to. Im heading out next saturday to give it a try. See how well she shoots

Nice Rifle and GOOD shooting - 6.5 PRC is a GREAT cartridge and usally Very Accurate - Don't expect your hand loads to shoot any Better then that. Just Sayin ! RJ

Im thinkin the handloads will shoot better. I didnt have the best rear rest on this round of shooting. Im hoping to bring it in a tiny bit more. We will see

Why do a 6.5 PRC on a long action, out of curiosity?

To the OP, nice shooting and 6.5 PRC is definitely an interesting caliber.

In 6.5 prc? Yeah i went nuts about it and picked up a bunch of reloadimg gear for it. Im looking forward to reloading for this caliber.

Is he saying he wants to build a wildcat 6.5-300 PRC? I could definitely get behind that! A modern 264 Win Mag, pretty close to a 26 Nosler.

Seems kinda unnecessary considering that it's designed to run the 147s (and I imagine the 150SMKs would probaby fit fine)? An XM sized action I can see but if you have a long action I'd think you'd just do something like a 6.5-06?

Same, IF there were more chassis/stock options for that action. Sadly, there isn't yet.
