My build, that came about due to a great 6.5 RM brass source in the EE, is now together and looks like it will work out pretty well.
A #2B Bartlien 5r 8 twist at 24.5" was chambered with 0.2975" no-turn neck 6.5 RM reamer from PT&G and screwed on a Remington 700 XCR2 in a McMillan classic stock. Added a Wyatt extended mag box and a Trigger Tech.
Load development looks promising so far with the time I've had. Just wanted to share :)

I noticed Bertram and quality cartridge are both now offering brass if the need for more ever arose.

Mine was built by Leeper about 10 years ago now and it was gifted to me by a friend (I still miss you Mur). Its easily my favorite rifle.

I've found that I prefer H4831sc in it for velocity and accuracy and it's an honest 1/2MOA gun out to 550yds.

140gr Accubonds at 3000fps has been excellent medicine out to 598m on deer.

It's part of the original short magnum pair!

Sounds like it's a pretty nice piece. With great sentimental value as well.
What action?
Got a pic of it?

I don't know how to post pics now. Photobucket ruined it for me.

It's a Rem 700 SA off of a BDL SS. Shilen tube contoured by Bill with fluted bolt and handle. I used an extended Wyatt box as well.

I bedded is in a Wildcat myself and it's a dream to shoot. It comes in at 6lbs 15oz loaded scoped and ready to hunt so it packs easy too.

Wow that's light.

How far out are you seating the bullets? At 2.97"OAL three down is not reliable with the Wyatt box and factory WSM follower. At 2.94" no problems feeding with three down so far.

Very NICE and Very KOOL Buck ! I LIke it ! I was going to get a 6.5 RMag built too BUT after a Lot of sleepness nights I decided to go with a 6. 5 PRC instead - Sold all my brass to Rem338Win ! Looks like your new Rifle is gonna shoot Well ! RJ

Shot it at 300 yrds with the 143 Hornadys going 2.4" and the 120 TTSX at 1.4".
Each at only 2.5 minutes of elevation from a 100 yrd zero
Thanks for the complements guys
