better than three... More frugal than five.... And probably what fits in the magazine without a final single loading.
Anyone here jumping on the brass deal on EE?
I used my 6.5 Rem Mag in a Rem 660 so much I needed to re- barrel it. Good news is the Pac-Nor super match barrel is almost as accurate as the uncanny original Remington Barrel. I have a string of one shot kills on caribou that is now at 25. The combination of reasonable recoil. velocity, trajectory and hitting power is superb for all medium game. My new barrel is 23" long which is a good minimum. If you check out the Nosler reloading guide you get some modern loads and the round is pretty efficient treading on the great 264 Winchester with less erosion.
Mine likes 130 TSX and Accubonds wth Rl 22 or IMR 7828 or 140 Sierra's with H-4831. I acquired about 1000 rounds of factory loads up in Nunavut. Seems like Co-op and Northern Managers in various towns had ordered 6.5ammo probably for 6.5x55 but received 6.5 Rem Mag instead. Many years later I snapped it up at 5 to 10.00 a box. I had the ammo before the gun.
Here is a typical 6.5 Rem Mag caribou kill. Love this caliber!

Very nice... good to see your little guy out with you too!
Yup..He isn't so little anymore though..... Got his first moose last year with his 450 Bushmaster and is the starting center on his Senior Basketball team. They don't stay small long!
Shot it at 300 yrds with the 143 Hornadys going 2.4" and the 120 TTSX at 1.4".
Each at only 2.5 minutes of elevation from a 100 yrd zero
Thanks for the complements guys

Any more UPdates - GROUPS etc ? RJ
I've shot just over 200 rounds through it now. Nothing beyond 300 yrds though. I pulled off the 24x scope and put on a vx3 4.5-14 cds. The loads are good enough for me, grouping at sub moa. Will try longer later this spring. Brass is holding up well at 4x fired.
I built another one. This time a Kimber 8400 stainless classic select in 270 wsm was sacrificed. Another Bartlien 8 twist barrel at 24" was chambered and screwed on by my gunsmith.
