6.5 Swede in a strong action.

Look up the published numbers for Norma Factory loaded ammunition. They have never been accused of "anemic" loads. 140 grain Partition @ 2690; 156 grain Vulkan, Oryx or Alaska at 2560-ish. It may or may not be possible to match Norma performance with available components in your rifle. If those numbers aren't enough for your purposes, then you might consider selling your 6.5x55 and get something chambered in a larger cartridge.

RWS factory ammunition also lists good velocities for the 6.5 Swede.

The 6.5 bullets tend to be very long and small differences in chambers and barrels can have a huge impact on pressures.

So load data from the book or someone else may not be good info for your rifle. Just start low and work up until you get the velocity/accuracy you are looking for, or hit a pressure sign.

Sako and Lapua load data will be very helpful for modern loads. I have said it before so I will say it again. Modern ammunition manufacturers are still scared some jackass is going to stick a hot load in a Norwegian Krag and blow themselves up and they will get sued. Pretty much why you will not see an 140gr ammo in factory over 2650fps.
