A friend said he had a couple of 6.5's with two trigger's what type of rifle would this be.

Pics!

Could be a number of custom-made European hunting rifles, mainly of German origins.
Some are in 6,5 Mannlicher-Shönauer, other in 6,5x55 Swedish and a few in 6,5 Carcano.
Usually, the presence of double set triggers is a sign of a quality handmade firearm.
Today, Steyr offers some double set trigger options in their hunting firearms.
Ask your friend if he could make some pictures.

The very same that (arguably) shot Kennedy.
Sanme cartridge,, but I think the rifle was different , wasn't it?
Or is this one a cut down version?
I wasn't aware that the one that Oswald was supposed to have used had double set triggers.
For a guy that flunked out of marksmanship training, he made some incredible shots from an elevated position at a moving target - OOPS! Sorry, thread hijack!:D

May be a "Noobish" question, but what is the point of the double trigger?
One is a set trigger which "SETS" up (removes creep etc.) the other trigger then provides a very light "Hair" release for a more accurate shot...in layman's terms.....:)

They are smaller. The case's are 2.05" with a base of.445" compared to 2.21" with a .455" base, just in front of the rim for the 303. COL's are 3.02" and 3.05 respectively.

And with very heavy ( long) bullets!
157 or 160 grain, can't remember exactly as it is not my favorite 6.5!

That's a "Cooey" Carcano, made up for Eatons between the wars. I have a few - you can search for posts on them here at Gunnutz.
