6.5 x 55

Several 6.5mm 139-142 grain LR match bullets have BCs around .600 or a bit better. That is impressive, since it takes a much, much heavier .308 bullet to even get close. In the 308 case, there is insufficient capacity to push those heavier bullets at enough velocity to make them a good 1000 yard performer. The 6.5x55 is hard to beat. Regards, Eagleye.

Here is my 6.5 x 55 build in process.
It's a Karl G rifle.
It was bubba'd when I bought it before anyone hollers at me! ;)

What's done so far..which isn't much. That is a Richards Microfit stock.
Next is getting the bolt handle turned, drilled and tapped for the Bushnell Elite 3200 scope and eventually a heavy barrel. I'm going to use it for long range plinking and coyotes.

Damn Striker, thats a one hell of a nice stock!

It isn't finished yet. Still gotta sand it and seal it with something...
It was $139 US for the basic stock. I had it switched to left handed and the channel for the barrel made as big as they can. It was around $160 CDN to my door.
I'm very happy with it.
