I am starting to reload and have a sporterized Swede which I am using for moose and black bear, farthest shot 300 yds to under 40yds for bear over bait. After looking at the .264 bullet test I have narrowed down the selection to Barnes and Nosler. In no specific order these are the bullets I am considering 120gr TTSX, 127gr LRX, 130 gr TSX, 120gr E-Tip, 129 Accubond LR, 140 gr Accubond and 140 gr Partition. Most of the bullets I listed were not included in the test and am looking for any ones experience with those bullets not included in the test, any calibre, ideally at the same impact velocity as the 6.5x55. Not necessarily looking for sub MOA accuracy but functionality on game.

Where to purchase as well? Checked some sponsors and most bullets are not listed.

Thanks

my guess is any of those listed would work well. The monometal might hold together a bit better than the accubonds.

I only have experience with 140 grain xbt xlc Barnes, 120 ttsx and 120 Hornady GMX in a 264 wm.

All worked well. Good penetration and accuracy.

If it were me, I would likely go with the 120 ttsx, should make a nice load in the swede.

If I were you and I do have a 6.5 I would pick up woodleigh 160 from tradex and 156 grain mega from hirch precision. The woodleigh are 38.50 for 50 and I am told tradex is getting a new shipment in this week. High bc bullet and a excellent hunting bullet for big game. However the 130 barnes in your list would be my choice.

I have extensive experience with the 140 Partition in the Swede, and it is a fabulous bullet in that chambering.
With it I have shot deer, Black Bear, Moose, Elk and sheep.
Never had anything but great results with it, from 40M out past 350M

But any of those will work.

I am not fond of the E-Tip, because I could not get it to shoot well,
but of course another rifle may shoot it just fine.

Regards, Dave.

OP, in case you haven't seen it, BCSteve did a huge 6.5mm bullet test that is well worth reading:

http://www.canadiangunnutz.com/forum...lots-of-pics!)

I did look at it carefully, and the 30 cal bullet test by kman300 on cow bone, and that is why I choose Barnes and Nosler initially after reading and looking at those test results. After a suggestion from pbonura I looked at Woodleigh as well.

I appreciate the replies, keep them coming.
