6.5mm bullet for moose hunting

I loaded a bunch of Hornady 160 gr RN for the hunting Swedes i gave to friends. I chose it because it shot very good group in ALL the rifles and I assumed it would work well.

Severl moose have been accounted for and the bullets either went through or were found under the far side hide.

160 RN cheap, accurate and kill well. Good enough for my purposes.

If longer range shots were planned, a 140 spitzer would be my choice.

I have killed more than a few moose with the 6.5X55 using 160 grains Sierra Pro Hunter SMP's and Norma 185 grain round nosed bullets.
My O/U is regulated for 140's however, so I have loaded 140 Game Kings .
No moose with that one yet....

I would probably use the 140gr. partition I already have loaded. I have some 160's handy that I might play with this year....I heard a rumor that they were discontinued by Hornady ?

156gr Lapua Mega, I have some in the safe that I hope I get to use on a moose. Unfortunately in 10 years of trying I haven't drawn a moose tag, so this thread make me a bit bitter :(
