So I've been looking around for 6.5mm bullet moulds and all I've found is the Lyman 140 and 150gr ones. Does anyone else make one in a heavier bullet? Apparently Lee used to but they were discontinued if I'm reading the internet correctly. So, suggestions? Options? Guessing gas checks aren't commercially available either? Anyone casting 6.5mm stuff out there?

I got a Lee cruise missle sold by Midsouth. IIRC primerily designed for use in surplus military rifled. Something about long throats. Equally hated as loved. NOE used to make a
163 grain bullet, 270-163 FN

Maybe try contacting NOE

Thanks for the suggestions. I was not familiar with NOE.

I feel like knocking a .270 bullet down to 0.265 is a long way to go, even though I did like the 165gr design. I'm actually starting to wonder if custom dies aren't in order. I remember looking into them some years back on a different project and they didn't seem like a bad price.

Your cast is supposed to be 2-3 thou bigger. The drivingbands on the lee was .268... you would only be sizing it down 2 thou

Well, you'll notice in the drawing it starts at 0.265 which is 1 thou over the nominal 0.264, and steps up to 0.268. Given my usages, I wouldn't go above 0.266 but would expect this to potentially be a bit big. I presume they designed the mould to allow for worn or oversized bores in those old milsurp guns.

It's a Zastava in 6.5x55 I bought new some years back and am finally playing with. The good news is that I got a mould. The Lee cruise missile as offered earlier in this thread and I'm quite excited to lob some super long cylinders of lead at stuff now lol!

Thanks everyone!

I thought about this and started looking into customs this morning. But I assume Lee is ungodly backordered as everything on their website is out of stock LoL!

The US is in a civil war panic over the election and the shortages will soon be felt here.
