6.5x47 Lapua

Just heard that the third time a possible score of 600/600 prone was shot at the world championships using 6.5X47 Lapua with Lapua facory ammo. This is now considered the go-to round for 300 metre shooting and also does very well to 900 metres.

The ISSF has posted a quick video report on the 300 m Standard Rifle competition and Josselin is shooting a Bleiker -- which he used to win this match with a 587-21x (it's a three position, 3x20 shot match).

Bleikers aren't cheap -- their smallbore 50 m rifle will set you back around $7500 so I don't imagine its bigger cousin is any cheaper.
