6.5x55 ammo

That is part of what keeps swedes affordable. If there was any milsurp available you know it would be all horded in BadgerDog's basement (or mineLOL)
Of all the calibres out there the 6.5x55 is the most worthwhile to load for unless you can afford Norma ammo.

Are you looking for 6.5MSS? If so I have 18 rounds of Dominion factory soft points here... send me a PM if this is the right ammo and if you would be interested in buying some.

Does anyone know where I can buy bulk 6.5x55 ammo.thanks

David's right........ :D

It's getting harder to find every day and I've started hoarding it over the last year. I'm not a reloader and really don't ever want to get into it.

I attend a lot of gun shows here in Ontario and it's always on my shopping list. Generally it's just a box or two here and there, but sometimes full "battle packs" show up. At a recent show in Orangeville, there was a guy who had 4 or 5 battle packs, but they were water damaged from storage. Many of the cardboard boxes were stained and the ammunition itself showed signs of tarnishing, however, the price wasn't too bad, so I picked up a pack for general plinking. I haven't found any commercial ammunition that all my Swedes like as much as this standard Swedish 6.5 x 55mm m/41 139 grain (9 grams) ball (boat tail bullet) with a velocity of 2592 fps (790 m/s).

The only reason I reload is because of 6.5x55 :D

I have about 100 rounds of Igman left and I can't get myself to shooting it because it is so nasty to clean after, plus it doesn't really seal the neck well for a variety of reasons discussed before, so I am sitting on it until I am desperate enough to shoot it.

I have one box left of that surplus stuff left, and I'm wishing I had more.

I do have about 40 rnds of used brass from the same stuff, but it is Berdan Primed so it is useless to me. :(

You can reload Berdan primed brass. ;)

A dealer at almost all of the gunshows here in WPG sells battle packs of 6.5x55 for $115 including tax. I do not know how finite his supply is but everytime I buy a pack he reaches under his counter for another.
He also apparently has crates of 4 battle packs available for purchase. The way everyone is talking about the limited supply - I think I better start stocking up!

The packs/boxes are nice and clean with no damage but the rounds themselves are quite badly tarnished - enough to give my ljungman fits when extracting them! Though nothing a light oiling does not rectify.

last year i founds some military stuff in a small gunshop, bought all 12 boxes they had. said they had it for a long time but since it is fmj, no one would buy it.

i would avoid the bell stuff in this caliber,i still have a partial box that i bought, it was blowing primers. it would be interesting if someone had chrony data on this loading (i won't shot any more of it so it won't be me finding out).
