Hey fellas,

Anyone ever find a 127gr LRX load they like in their 6.5x55 rifles?

I'm looking at the Barnes data here and it looks a little....light? They say they load to 51,000 PSI. How much more can it be leaned on in a modern action like a Rem 700?

Find some SE or SKAN data for your 6.5 ONLY if you are using a modern rifle; if you are using an older 96 or M38 Mauser, stick with the lower pressure loads. I think Norma and Lapua publishes the higher pressure data.

I found some information you can use for referenced; but IMO this seems a bit low as well. For 127 gr bullets, it seems that 2700 fps is about tops: https://shootersreference.com/reloadingdata/65-x-55-se/

Thanks for looking, Meroh! There's some nice 2900+ FPS loads from VV there for the 120gr TSX/TTSX

Joel I will load some up soon in my Super Swede and see how they Sail ! RJ

I think they will do a EASY 3000 fps from my T3 22.4 " barrel !

Whooo, that is smokin'! haha. Think they'll be sailing from a 26" barreled Ruger here Jim.

You should be able to get around 2920 fps with a 26 in barrel with around 48.5 grains of Vit 560 and a COL of 3.15 and Lapua brass. Pressure would be around 50000 PSI. This is a simulation from Gordon reloading tool. I would suggest to start at least 2 grains lower and do a ladder test up to 49 grains. This is a full copper bullet, loads will be lower than for cup and core.

I use 50.2 grains Vit 560 for my TTSX 120 grains in a Tikka T3x for 2920 fps. The barrel length is 22.4 in. This is from Vihtavuori load data.
