The Woodleigh Reloading Manual suggests 0.020" to 0.040" to lands for their bullets - fine tune from there. Others I have read - John Barsness (?) suggests 0.030" - about same thing as Woodleigh says. I believe some mono-metal bullets want huge jump - circa 0.070" or similar. So I measured my lands on my m96.. does anyone have an idea of how far back from the lands I should be seating? Loading 130 gr sierras TMK and TGK with 4064.. thanks.
The throat on most M96s goes on forever. You can probably load them out as far as you safely can, and ther'll still be a few hundredths jump left. That's been my experience anyway. So I measured my lands on my m96.. does anyone have an idea of how far back from the lands I should be seating? Loading 130 gr sierras TMK and TGK with 4064.. thanks.
