Well being a young and "Yeah I know" teenager, I decided to do something dumb and I mean dumb!
I wanted a high-power scope for my "Beautiful and pristine" 6.5 carbine.
So I went out and got one.
Well as those who own one, and had any thoughts on putting on a target scope on their rifle, will realise that the rear sight has to be taken out of it's mount.
Well being in the state of mind, you know 'Hire a teenager now while they still know everything", yes you guessed it, as everyone grinds their teeth and winces their eyes, I decided to take a dremmel, yes a dremmel, and proceeded to cut the, .....wait for it, ....... the whole mount off the barrel!!!
(yes i know they make higher rings now, but didn't then)....
So I have managed to find a complete rear sight with the "cigar-tube" still on it and want to put the whole thing back the way it was.
The problem I face now is the front sight mount.
Is there a way to take it off and put it back on? Is it soldered on?
I have taken the blade out and removed the locating screw out.
Can anyone shed some light on this for me? or help
Thanks and please be kind. Everyone was a teenager once!
Cheers

The front sight base is soldered on with tin solder as is the rear base. Just warm them up and they will easily come off or go on. Getting them lined up properly might be a challenge depending on your skill.
We are talking about a Swede Mauser right?
