6.5X55 help please

Hey I am looking for some insight on the 6.5x55 world .My dad bought a husqvarna 6.5x55 long before I was born and my brother and i have fought over it every hunting season since we could hold it up. I have been looking at my local gun store and there website shows they have had several husky's ,but there website doesnt show pictures because they have far too many guns to post pictures and when I show up to see one they pull out a long gun with a bayonet on it .So I am looking for a sportized 6.5x55 but i dont want to spend a few grand on a tikka or sako and I like the old mausers . I guess my question is where do I start my search and what models would I be looking for or what ones to avoid.

Tradeex is ground zero for us 6.5x55/9.3/8mm/06 ... etc. etc. Swedish mauser nutz here in Canada.

Pay attention to the first line of the listing's description. There are subtle differences in tradeex's method of nomenclature to be aware of. Look in to what they are meaning before committing.
As in: "M96 6.5x55 sporter" is not the same thing as a "M96 6.5x55 commercial sporter".
As a "M98 sporter", is not the same as a "FN98 sporter".
Do your homework.

No, Trade Ex Canada (T.E.C. Inc.) is a dealer of high repute and a sponsor of this site. They tend to get a lot of decent hunting rifles that are what some call old-fashioned and others will call classic. They seem to source a lot from Europe, including Husqvarnas made of Mauser actions and the classic 6.5x55mm Swedish calibre is not rare amongst them.

Should be noted that the descriptions given by Tradeex of the rifles in their inventory are generally incredibly honest and accurate. You'll have good dealings with them, probably the only place in Canada with a wide selection of used Swedish sporting rifles. They also carry new made Zastavas in 6.5x55 (and others), based on the M98 Mauser action for a good price.
 
Trade ex is definitely a good place to buy from, I've bought two rifles from them now, and am very happy with both. As was mentioned, they have commercial mausers and military ones, so it shouldn't be too hard to find one you like. They describe each rifle accurately, so buying used and sight unseen isn't too big of a gamble. If you are planning on reloading for it, you can usually get dies, brass, and bullets from them too.

You can't go wrong with TradeEx Canada.
I bought a beautiful Carl Gustaf M96 Mauser from them several years ago. I think I paid around $275.00 or so if I recall correctly. As a previous poster mentioned be prepared to spend several hours on their Web site as they have literally hundreds of firearms listed.
 
If you are not stuck on a Husqvarna, there is a 700 Classic for sale on the EE right now. I picked one up a year or so ago and they are a fine shooting rifle, I also bought a BSA from Tradex in 6.5X55 a few years back and it is another fine firearm for a very reasonable price if you can find one.
 
CZ 550 Lux...6.5x55...wood stock...One of the sweetest rifles I've ever owned and still do...I have a Sightron Big Sky 6-24x42 scope on mine...I shoot sub moa at a hundred easily...Best all around rifle and caliber I've owned.
