As to bullet construction, the SST's only commonly shared feature with the "regular" interlock is the interlock ring.
The core is of a harder alloy and the jacket material is thicker at the base. Both of these help prevent the classic core slippage that plagues most non-bonded core BT bullets.

I agree if it aint broke don't fix. I still have a few interlocks, but last time I was at a gun shop all they had were the SST in 140grn hunting bullets... More than likely I will keep the interlocks for this years deer trip, but just incase I use them at the range, I wanted to check on the sst...

That being said, I am taking my bubba 303 to the smith for some new sights, maybe for a open sight bush gun for this year.

Who knows... Either way(interlock or sst), here's hoping for a deer this year!

As Mystic says, H4831 SC is a classic choice.

Reloder 22 would also work just as well.

Most people find these slower, small-kerneled powders work best with 140-grain bullets in 6.5x55.

+1. Either of the 4831's and RL-22 work very well in the Swede with 140gr bullets.

Just going back to a previous post about harder jackets.... Does the sst have a tougher jacket or is it an interlock with plastic? Maybe I'm just mis reading.

Not actually a tougher jacket, just a thicker one. Same thing I suppose.

Note in the photo of the SST that the expansion stops at 10-12mm above the BT base of the bullet; also true of the "regular" interlock bullet. The SST jacket material was thickened at this point.

The expansion characteristics of the SST also indicate a harder core. All this presumes that the tests performed were done under the same set of parameters for both bullets./SIZE]

Performance of these bullets is the same as my own tests into wet newspaper at 50/100 and 200 yds. from a .300 WSM and a 30/06, both with the 180 standard interlock and the '06 also with the SST, and a .375 H&H with 275 interlocks.

Now if Hornady could get their act together and get some bullets to Canada!!!
