A friend just purchased a new Tikka Sporter in 6.5x55, and we are putting together a list of dies and components to order, but in order to choose the proper neck bushings, I need to know the neck diameter of a round assembled with recent Lapua brass. Can anyone help out in this regard?

Funny I saw this thread JUST as I had finished collet sizing 100 of my 6.5x55 Lapua brass. I checked my freshly sized brass and three of my virgin Lapua brass and I found consistently .291". Just my $0.02 but figured I'd chime in anyways!

Is that before a bullet is seated, or with a bullet seated? I need the diameter with a bullet seated.

.296" inserted.

That .005" difference is exactly what I am trying to avoid. I like to use the Redding neck bushing dies in order to avoid overworking the brass, and to be able to adjust the neck tension. I am looking for a difference of .001" to .002".
