I have a rem 700 6.5x55 classic and am gonna get a tikka t-3 stainless very soon. Gonna shoot 140 grain nosler partitions out of them. Was wondering what loads you guys would reccomend? Thanks 4 the help.
Ive only shot the partitions out of a swedish mauser, havent tried in my Tikka yet. Got good accuracy and decent velocity using RL-22 (worked up to 46.5 gr.)
RL22 is what my Dad uses as well with the 140gr SGK. My 6.5x55 I've used IMR4831 with good results, but truth be it, I haven't shot it much. Other rifles have been taking my time.
46 grs H4831sc and 140gr Partitions work well in one of my 260's. They have about the same powder capacity as the 6.5x55 so I dont see why it wouldn't work as well. Might even be able to add a grain or so and get a few more FPS. This load runs 2650 fps in my Titanium 700 and 2750 in my custom barrel 700
RL-22 works very well in my T-3, from 46.0-46.5 with most 140 grain bullets it will shoot moa and under. Its a deer gun for me so I went with Hornady Sps.
