tradex offers the following in 6.5x55. Would really like some input as to which model is best and are the actions any better than the m96?

Swedish made Lakelander Model 375
BSA CF2
SG19C 1900 (Belgian)
Stiga Mauser
SG19C 1900
Sabatti Rover Classic 90
Husqvarna 3000 (Sako type extractor)
Husqvarna 1600 Series

Depends on the features you want - iron sights, scope mount, fixed, hinged floorplate, or detachable mag, controlled round feed vs push feed, etc. Its all there in the descriptions...
Some of those rifles are next to impossible to get parts for... Many of them have cracked stocks... Finally, when you get into the 600$ range you are competing against current production firearms, which can be handled at your local shop for fit etc. The oddball rifles listed above would likely have to appeal to collectors...

The Husqvarna 1600 is an improvement on the M96 Mauser. They either have a steel or alloy bottom metal which is obviously lighter. They're in fairly high demand. The good thing is that they are drilled and tapped at the factory so they are correctly done. Many of the M96s floating around have have very poor drilling/tapping jobs. Having said that, for the price, a good M96 is hard to beat.

Husqvarna 1900s are a later version on the 1600, but they are push fed rather than controlled.

Use the search on this site and you'll find a list of Husqvarna models and calibres that they came in.

I have bought two Husqvarna 9.3x57's from Tradex-really good people to deal with, the rifles were in the condition they said they were in[excellent],the stocks did show ''light handling marks''[as they divilged]but a wet dishcloth and my wifes iron steamed those out followed by a light sanding and a coat of oil and some rubbing made them look really nice. One came with weaver bases already installed-the other had a Norma peepsight-which I am given to understand is fairly rare. Both rifles were under $300.I call that excellent value
