Can someone clarify the exact difference between 6.5 x 55 Scandinavian and 6.5x55 Swedish calibers. I have dies for both. Can you reload for rifles chambered with 6.5x55 Swedish with the 6.5 x 55 Scandinavian dies? Or the other way around? Can you direct me to site where this would be clarified? Thanks.

I believe those are the same cartridge. The 6.5x55 was used primarily by Norway and Sweden which are part of the region historically known as Scandinavia. At least that's what the internet tells me. I may br wrong though.

Far as I've observed the cases are identical dimensions and might be two local names for the same thing. However, I know with certainty that Lapua sells 6.5X55Swedish brass, but their reloading tables (VihtaVuori) list separately the 6.5X55Swede and 6.5X55Skan: The latter is interchangeably called the 6.5X55Skan or 6.5X55SE and is quite simply a modern high pressure loading table for use in modern actions, where the 6.5X55Swedish is the reloading tables (and differentiator) of loads suitable for the weaker actions of Krag-Jorgensen and M1896 rifles.
