6.5x55 shooting question - CZ 550

I've got an older Sako with a 1:9" twist and I'm getting 3/4" groups with 140 accubonds & 143 eld-x at 100 m.
Handloads but without too much difficulty.
 
My Ruger M77 Mark II has a 1:8 twist and prefers the 140's, but 120, 130 & 150 are almost as good.
 
You may wish to try S&B - I found the ammo generally tends to perform very well in CZ (as well as Tikka and Sauer rifles).

CZ 550 Lux 6.5x55 - S&B 140gr @ 100m. Tradeex also carries the ammo in 156gr SP (I haven't tried that though …..)

Win 70 FWT 1-8 shoots 129-156gr will not stabilize 160gr.RE#22 is the best powder followed by IMR4350 .My son's T3 likes RE#22 and 130gr SciroccoII [one hole] and 140gr Partitions.Moose ,bear elk ,deer and antelope.Swedish mauser 38 42gr IMR4350 and a 156 Sako or 160gr Hornady many dead moose never found a bullet.
 
Tried the Norma 139 gr loads back in the early 90's in my Rem 700 Classic (1:9 twist iirc) and they shot very well. When I did find Norma's 140 gr Partition ammo, it too shot well (sub-MOA). The Norma loads are faster than most other factory loads (2780 fps vs 2650 fps).
When it was available, the Hornady Light Magnum Euro Spec loads also ran sub-MOA at 2780 fps.
All of the above worked very well on deer, caribou, stone's sheep and moose.
Haven't tried the new Hdy Superformance, but it should work very well too.
My new lh Sako 85 Hunter (1:8 twist) really likes the Nosler 140 gr AccuBond load (1/2 MOA) and the HSM 140 gr Berger factory loads. Sorry, cannot recall velocities at moment, but believe they are in the 2650 fps club. Expect to improve on velocities with the 140 gr AccuBonds to about the 2780-2800 fps mark with handloads and Re-26.
Been shooting the 6.5x55 for almost 30 years now...more trigger time with this than any other centerfire cartridge. A highly underrated jem!

Update.: I just sold the 6.5x55. Ive only had the rifle a few days, but I have a real bad back, and I think I need to find something just a bit lighter. The fit for me is quite what I was looking for either. I picked up some Norma 6.5 at a local show on Saturday, so at least I have some rounds for when I find the right gun.
What is out there in terms of something a bit lighter? I think Winchester made a featherlite, I am not sure what else may be available.

Tikka and Sako make them pretty light.
Last I heard there's also Barrett Firearms (Fieldcraft), and Ruger producing the 6.5x55mm.
Sauer & other euro's...

Thanks. I would like to find something a bit vintage, maybe 60s or 70s, with a good piece of wood. I appreciate vintage firearms more than the new stuff. Do not like anything synthetic.
