anyone know where i can get a crate or any large supply of mil surplus 6.5x55 for my mauser? small boxes cost way to much

There has not been any quantity of surplus ammo in that caliber for several decades. You might try the Igman ammo that several dealers offer (about $320/500 rounds) but your best bet is to reload. The 6.5x55 really shines when properly handloaded with quality components.

PMC makes a 144 grain FMJ military type round, I bought a partial case a few years ago, pretty decent stuff and reloadable brass as well.

"...for several decades..." At least. I've never seen case lots of it in 30 years.
