Well...Now that I know what main hunting rifle I'm taking elk hunting....

What Carbine do I take for the dirty work:rolleyes: We push bush or if I have to track down a wounded animal...I can't carry a 26" long 340 weatherby through the bush.....Very rarely do you ever catch up to one...unless it's wounded....But I still like to carry if I'm pushing one out to posters...Never know;) I would expect shots to be point blank to 70 yards max.

Do I take my 303SBBI (Super British Bubba Improved)

Russ...

What!!! you don't like my No5 Jungle carbine super bubba....:(

The brake was built by PGW (worth about 4 times the total gun)But works great....Zero felt recoil...You can see bullet impact in the scope...and it's a tac driver at 100 yards....
The stock was done by a master craftsman....It was his life work...In his spare time after he was done checking his traps....But he died before he finished:rolleyes:
I ended up with this stock after quite a few drinks with Camk....seemed like a good idea at the time:cool: There is a long story behind this rifle;)

Here's a few more pics:D

I would take the 303. That way, looking at you the animal won't know you have a gun. (i sure as hell woulnd't have guessed...)

Don't take either. I've hunted plenty with a 26" barrel, and I never got between a pair of rock faces or trees where I couldn't turn around.

I picked the Swede. I like SMLE's but the only way you could convince me to buy that was if you threw in a clean stock as well as that piece of firewood. You might have to pay me to take it anyway just for having to be seen in public with that poor desecrated rifle. Do you realize how many chickens will have to be sacrificed to purify that .303?

I voted Swede, but after a few more looks at that 303, I would change my bet.

I'd like to shoot that 303. I'll be the stock would shoot real nice with that scope. I'd also like to try that brake on my No5.

If a guy wants to handcarve a rifle stock, I say bully for him. Probably bought it a long long time ago.

Regards,

DT

oh god I wasnt prepared to see those close up pics of the 303 stock! now I got some cleaning to do on my shirt and keyboard

Having the courage(?) to publicly admit you are the registered owner of that .303 definitely makes you "special" in my books. Perhaps some of your CGN colleagues could be talked into a group donation... a mere $69 would buy a black plastic Ramline from W Sports...not the best I know, but gawd, that thing is offensive!
