Started an expensive project and now would like some loads for it. I've got the Sierra manual and just recieved my dies, but would like to know if anyone else has some favorite loads to share for this soon to be fine (when it comes back from the smith) rifle.

Years ago, when I looked into it for a buddy, there were no published loads to be had for 6.5 X 57. We established that the case volume was 2% less than the 6.5X55 - so we deducted that amount from the published swede data - worked fine. I shoot a lot of 6.5 X 55, and H4350 with pretty well every bullet weight do the job nicely.

I shoot a 6.5x257 roberts which is the same aside from the shoulder angle. Ive based myself from some old data that is available and some of the 6.5x57 data that I have from Hornady and Ken Water's Pet loads which has nice writeup on it.
I havent' done too much experimenting but 46 gr. of H4831 behind a 160 gr. Hornady RN shoots fairly straight.....may not be safe in your rifle...Not sure what kind of action you are using.
I believe Hodgdon data online has 6.5x57
